Mastering Business Development, Inc. (MBDi)
named Kevin Hackney as the Senior Manager of the
Training Division and Lead Trainer. Hackney has
twenty seven years of senior management experience,
including over 2 decades as an U.S. Army Officer,
and brings 15+ years experience and skills in
strategic planning, business consulting, knowledge
engineering and contracting to the MBDi
team.
Hackney's service career gave him global experience
in various positions of increasing responsibility at
all levels of command both nationally and
internationally in the areas of Leadership
Development, Program Management, Operations Research
and Systems Analysis. Hackney began his career in
the private sector working DoD projects as a Senior
Systems Analyst and Operations Research Consultant
on contract with MPRI Inc. of Newport News, VA. He
also served as Vice President of Operations for Oak
Grove Technologies, of Raleigh, NC, and was the
operational lead during that company’s two year,
five fold revenue growth as a Service
Disabled-Veteran Owned Small Business.
Hackney's professional experience and leadership in
training and development spans both his military and
private sector careers. As the Chief of the Civilian
Leadership and Training Division while assigned to
the faculty of the Command and General Staff
College, Fort Leavenworth KS., Hackney was
responsible for the leadership training of DoD
civilians from interns through the Senior Executive
Services (SES) levels. As a retired officer,
Hackney was the Executive Advisor for Leadership
Programs with the General Hugh Shelton Leadership
Initiative in conjunction with NC State University.
This initiative developed and coordinated leadership
programs for NC State and other colleges focused on
building leaders of leaders within the ranks of
senior faculty and college directors.
