Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer
Kathy’s career has evolved through many facets, from scientific research to STEM education to Business Development and marketing. A Philadelphia native, she began her professional career in R&D at Purdue University after earning a BS in Mathematics and Chemistry from Purdue’s College of Science. In subsequent years, Kathy was also engaged in STEM education before becoming a founding partner for MBDi, in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1979.
Kathy has served MBDi in many capacities, with the most significant being her current responsibility for the firm’s Strategic Marketing and Business Development. Along the way, she also earned an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business to bridge her knowledge of science and engineering to that of business. This mirrors the profile of many leaders in MBDi’s highly technical client base, which includes Defense/National Security, Aerospace, Energy, Nuclear, Engineering, IT, and Biotech/Pharma industries.
On the volunteer side, Kathy served as President of the Purdue Club of Charlotte and also was a member of Duke/Fuqua’s Alumni Council. She is currently active on the Duke Charlotte Alumni Board of Directors. Previously, she served on Purdue’s College of Science Alumni Council, and continues her support of Purdue’s Women in Science Program (WISP), providing mentoring and assistance to women pursuing undergraduate and advanced degrees in the sciences.
Professionally, Kathy is a member of the American Nuclear Society (ANS), the Association of Old Crows (AOC) and Women in Defense (WID). She also takes the lead in the company’s involvement as a corporate member of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), National Training Systems Association (NTSA), the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), and the Charlotte Regional Partnership (CRP).
